Our 2021 Open Range line comes from grapes sourced from the world-renowned regions of Yakima Valley, Horse Heaven Hills, and Columbia Valley. These Washington state AVAs produce exceptional grapes, deep in color, with rich complexity and structure.

Columbia Valley
The Columbia Valley is a low desert region encompassing 12 AVAs including Horse Heaven Hills and Yakima Valley. Although an arid climate, the Columbia River (one of the largest rivers in the US) cuts through the appellation providing ample water to growers.

Horse Heaven Hills
The scenic Horse Heaven Hills sits on the north side of the Columbia River on ancient lava flows. Grapes grown in the strong winds and rolling hills of this dry region produce some of the nation’s best wines, including one rated a rare 100 points by Robert Parker in 2002.

Yakima Valley
Yakima Valley, the first AVA in the Pacific Northwest, sits on the same latitude as the Bordeaux region of France. With silt, loam, and cobble soils offering vines excellent drainage, and micro-climates throughout the Valley, vintners can produce a wide variety of wines with intensity and complexity.
